Who can be a Member?
First we'd like to distinguish between the Coven and their Ancestral Home, Moonstone Abbey...
The Coven:
The Coven is a group comprised of female spellcasters. The High Council of Coven Sisters and the Holy Trine, 13 Sisters in all, govern Moonstone Abbey.
Application to the Coven is separate from application to the Abbey.
Sisters of the Coven are welcome to join the Abbey at any time if they are not members of any other Great House. We would love to have our all of our Sisters be members of the House, advancing to become Charter and perhaps Council members, which would qualify them to help govern the Abbey.
Moonstone Abbey:
The Abbey is the Ancestral Home of the Coven Sisters, and the only Great House in Ta'Illstim. Membership in Moonstone Abbey is open to all (pending acceptance of application) regardless of race, creed, profession, or gender. Moonstone Abbey offers many amenities to its residents including a supernode in the lounge, locker space on par with the other Great Houses of Elanthia, private tables, a bar, rich history and lore, and much more.
Application to Moonstone Abbey is separate from application to The Coven.
Membership in Moonstone Abbey does not require nor constitute membership in The Coven.
Coven Admission Requirements:
To join The Coven requires, among other things, that you complete an application form, attend at least two Meet and Greet gatherings, and six meetings of The Coven (or a number otherwise designated by the Holy Trine). The Meet and Greet Gatherings are held at the Abbey on the 13th of each month and are not currently separate from the Abbey membership meeting.
You will also need a sponsor, a Sister to speak on your behalf. This is important, because it requires that you get to know at least one Sister on a more intimate level. She will meet with you outside of meetings at least twice to get to know you better, be it on a hunt or doing something else that you both enjoy.
Aside from this, your part of the Initiation process is as follows:
Attend at least the minimum number of Meetings required of you.
The Mistress of Membership will assign to you two small tasks to prove your commitment to the Coven. These tasks will vary from applicant to applicant, and will not be hard or overbearing. The task will be individually chosen according to your skills, level, etc. and to your input on an acceptable task. You will have a Task Mistress to help you.
Service Task: In which you might be asked to provide a small service for the Coven or the Lands (i.e., imbedding for the Shoppe [editor's note: the Shoppe as it was is now gone. However, Zenaxa has a three room shop in which she would gladly sell goods solely for the benefit of the Coven], spell-ups in the name of the Coven, sitting at TSC (or any town's main gathering area) or the gates and giving mana to empaths and clerics, something along those lines).
Scholarly Task: In which you will need to perform or submit to the Mistress of Membership a piece of scholarship (i.e. writing a poem or song, creating a guide, or other scholarly type of work).
You must have trained at least 10 times.
You have read and thoroughly understand all Coven bylaws and documents provided on this website.
